THE STORY SO FAR...

Between 1600 and 1855, over ten million Africans were snatched from their homes and sold off to lives of brutal servitude in the Americas, victims of the Triangle trade.  An estimated million died during the passage to the New World. In addition to this, many Malays and other South East Asians were enslaved by the Dutch and brought to their colonies both in Africa and in the Americas. To add insult to injury, many native Americans from the Carolinas and other areas of the frontier were enslaved and sold off to work in the sugar plantations of the Caribbean.

Some lucky few escaped their captors and fled into the wild interiors to form communities known as Maroons.  Others were adopted into local tribes.  But most simply suffered the indignity and brokenheartedness of losing every thing they knew and loved, forced to toil under terrible and untenable conditions for cruel and ruthless Masters.

Such widespread disruption of native populations severed the ties between many Fera and their kin, and created a huge problem with lost cubs, many of whom fell victim to corruptive influences due to the lack of guidance after their first changes. Alfajiri and Robert joined together with Panther on a quest to end this nefarious trafficking and, much like Robert did for Alfajiri, return lost cubs (and kin) to their native lands where they can encounter Kuasha of their own Tribes.

To further this goal, Robert commissioned the Acyayia to be built to his specifications, and the pair embarked on a journey to various ports o' call in the New World.   They gathered a crew of shifter kin and a Balam pirate captain dedicated to returning his people's ancient texts to their proper guardians.  With their Totem Panther to guide them, the Pride cruised the Caribbean in search of lost cubs and artifacts.

While visiting the island of Eluethera in  the Bahamas, they encountered a pair of shifters about to change:  One was Rebekah, a Swara, born into slavery, and still kept in that manner despite the decree by the British Empire to free slaves, and the other was the son of her Master, a young Silver Fang whose family had fallen to the Silver Spiral and now served the Wyrm through a woman named Madame Leveque.

After a pitched battle resulting in the destruction of the young Fang's immediate family, Robert and Alfajiri fled the plantation with both young  shifters.  With information they gleaned from the youngsters, they determined the corruption in the area was far worse than their original suspicions, and the conspiracy led directly to the door of the Fang's uncle, Governor Cockburn himself.  Unequipped to guide the young Garou, they detoured to Florida, to offload him with some friendly Uktena.

While enroute back to the Bahamas to deal with the Governor, they were accosted by Bran Maybee.  Despite seeking revenge on Robert  for the attempt to murder him years ago in London, Bran nevertheless revealed to Alfajiri that the Governor was indeed corrupt, and in league with a powerful group of infernalists who worshiped an extremely powerful Urge Wyrm known as the Boitata. When they reached Nassau, they came across an Ahroun Black Fury Freebooter named Alexis Lucia, whose totem was also Panther.  She joined up with the Pride, since her own goal was to find and retrieve lost fetishes.

With Bran's help, and the help of an escaped slave of Madame Leveque's named Malisol, the Pride was able to infiltrate and destroy the ritual center under the Governor's mansion and kill off Governor Cockburn and some of his cronies.  Suffering quite a few casualties, they escaped without detection, but Bran left some blood and feathers behind that led to the blame for the attack being pinned on him.

Now fully aware of the threat, the Pride continued on to Recife (stopping to take a slave ship as a prize along the way, where they found another lost cub named Sunday).  Once in Recife, they encountered a tower dedicated to the Boitata.  The local Fera had made many attempts to oust the evil in their midst, but the magic on Malikoff tower was so powerful that the only weapon capable of destroying it was a very ancient and magic Conch rumored to be hidden on the lost, Enchanted island of Soraya in the Sargasso Sea.

Soon they were enroute to this legendary island, where they encountered the Fae court of Queen Orocobix and the Mad Mage, Jean Maritime.  The evil forces of the Sargasso loom ominously over the island and it is anyone's guess what may happen next...

THE ACYAYIA

Named after the legend of an independent, licentious Taino woman who becomes a Mermaid rather than submit to the mores of the Catholic church, the Acyayia is a very unique ship.

In the physical realm, she is a typical three masted schooner of her day, armed with 20 cannon.  Fast, maneuverable, and perfect for the task of privateering for which she was commissioned.

The umbral modifications, however show a much different nature, reflecting Robert's Electrodyne Engineering, they allow the ship to move even if there is no wind, and have even been known to cause the ship to take flight for short distances
